Ki Gong Program

Develop a State of Inner and Outer Tranquility

Ki Gong is an ancient Asian health art designed to promote harmony of body, mind, and spirit. It is a unique blend of still postures and dynamic exercises that balance the subtle energy systems within the body. Ki Gong practice on a regular basis can prevent and cure illness while promoting longevity.

(Ki) refers to life's vital energy while (Gong) refers to practice or exercise. It is also referred to by the Chinese term "Qi Gong" (pronounced "Chi Gong"). There is a growing global awareness of Ki Gong as more and more people throughout the world are enjoying it's holistic health benefits.

Our program uses a time tested formula for success. Our class has a beginning, middle, and end, after which you will have a feeling of calm aliveness.

The class runs for one hour and begins with gentle stretching and breathing exercises. We then practice several ancient Ki Gong sets of pre-arranged dynamic movements. After the dynamic exercise we practice floor stretching and a series of special postures called Haeng Gong, which are designed to accumulate Ki energy in the lower abdomen (Dan Jun), circulate Ki through specific meridians, open powerful acu-points, and improve organ function while strengthening the immune system.

We end our session with meditation. Meditation is a process of looking inward. It allows you to awaken your inner consciousness and discover your true self. Inner peace and harmony are attainable through meditation.

Remember that learning and practicing Ki Gong is not an overnight process. Patience is essential. To make normal progress we recommend that you attend at least two classes per week as well as practice at home.
