Books and Manuals that explore and enhance

Han Guk Mu Sool Manuals:  Written by Master Al Gauthier, these books are intended to compliment instruction provided in KMARA schools.  All testing requirements are given for each belt level.  Each manual includes numerous detailed photographs of forms, one-steps, self defense and other special topics to provide a visual suppliment to the textual descriptions provided.

Ki Gong Manuals: Written by Master Al Gauthier, these books introduce Ki Gong fundamentals and history.  Numerous photos illustrate posture and positioning for both exercises and forms.

DT Manuals: Written by Marster Al Gauthier, these manuals suppliment the DT Systems courses offered by the KMARA.  Topics covered in the manuals mirror those of the courses and include photos to illustrate key positions of the techniques.
 

Han Guk Mu Sool Manuals
  Yellow Belt Manual
This book covers the first level under the KMARA.  Topics covered include: history, terminology, vital points, basic movements, forms, one-steps, and self defense.
  Green Belt Manual
This book covers the second level under the KMARA.  Topics covered include: history, forms, one steps, self defense, and sparring.
  Brown Belt Manual
This book covers the third level under the KMARA.  Topics covered include: history, forms, one steps, self defense, falling, jump kicking, and Ki breathing exercises.
  Red Belt Manual
This book covers the fourth level under the KMARA.  Topics include: Forms, one steps, self defense, advanced aerial kicking, knife defense, Ki Gong, force continuum, and throwing techniques.
  Black Stripe Manual
This book covers the final requirements prior to Black Belt under the KMARA.  Topics include: forms, one steps, self defense, and the cane.
 
 
  1st Degree Black Belt
This book covers the preparation course for the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt in the KMARA.  Topics include: forms, one steps, self defense, weapons, and special topics.
 
 
  2nd Degree Black Belt
This book covers the testing requirements for 2nd Degree Black Belt in the KMARA.  Topics are similar to the 1st Degree Manual and are at a higher level.
 
 
  3rd Degree Black Belt
This book covers the testing requirements for 3rd Degree Black Belt in the KMARA.  Topics are similar to the 2nd Degree Manual and are at a higher level.
 
 
  4th Degree Black Belt (Coming 2008)
This book covers the testing requirements for 4th Degree Black Belt in the KMARA.  Topics are similar to the 3rd Degree Manual and are at a higher level.

Ki Gong Training Manual
This manual introduces the student to the basics of Ki Gong including breathing, stretching, accu-point, and exercises.
Ba Duan Jin Guide
A photographically illustrated guide to the ancient "8 Pieces of Brocade" providing descriptions and explanations of each movement.
Yi Jin Jing Guide
A photographically illustrated guide to the "Yi Jin Jing" providing descriptions and explainations of each movement

Il Ji Ki Gong Hyung Guide
A photographically illustrated guide to the "Il Ji Ki Gong Hyung" providing descriptions and explainations of each movement

DT Manuals
Defensive Tactics
This is our basic self defense course. It stresses awareness and threat evaluation with appropriate responses. This course serves as an important foundation to develop the mind-set and skills to survive a street encounter.
Opponent Control
This course stresses simple, safe, and effective methods to control a subject. These joint manipulation techniques (called come-alongs) reduce injuries and make arresting an uncooperative subject safer and easier.
Gun Disarming
This course teaches last resort methods of disarming a high risk subject. This is one of the most comprehensive courses taught, and includes hostage, disadvantaged, and third party applications. Also long gun disarms are taught during this course. Various training scenarios will be presented to add realism to the training.
Knife Defense
Learn how to deal with the bladed encounter. This is a must learn course for anyone who is serious about self defense.

Defensive Tactics for EMS
This course teaches EMS providers how to defend themselves in a rescue situation where self defense is not the only concern.  The course stresses the EMS provider taking control of the situation and providing assistance in the safest possible manner for all involved.
